Letter reads: "Sir, I beg you will excuse my liberty of writing you wishing to know if the Schooner Hunter of Leith, James Berwick Master has arrived at your port, he sailed from this three weeks hence wi coals bound for Aberdeen and I have heard accounts of him (?) if you will be so kind as wi me and let me know if he has arrived and if again sailed where for. Your attention to the above will greatly oblige. Sir, your most obedient servant, Ann Berwick." Bottom left corne of the letter reads: "Please direct to Mr. & Mrs. James Berwick, Elie, Fife Shire." |
