| Description | In the course of his bookkeeping, the Harbour Board treasurer kept bills paid or signed receipts (known as vouchers) in bundles by month. Key details from these bills would then be entered into the cash books, journals and ledgers (AHB/2/1).
As the key information from these vouchers has been copied into the ledgers, only a sample of vouchers have been retained for the majority of these bundles (1-20). Bundles 21-22 had been item listed and were retained in their entirety. Vouchers sampled were for unusual goods or services; ballast vouchers containing details of boats in the harbour; salary payments; and detailed bills for work done.
Bundles 19-21 described as "reconstituted bundles" on the box list from the original survey. Bundles 21 and 22 were mistakenly mixed together and listed as MQ 1C or 5/1/5: they have since been separated to better reflect the original order, but it appears sub-bundles have been added, it is not clear whether these are original.
