| Description | This series comprises records of the assessment of tax for the support of the families of militiamen.
The tax was imposed on 30 April 1824 at the rate of 7d per pound of house rent for 1811 on houses, which increased to 8 shillings per £100 valued rent on lands and 8d per pound of house rent in 1812.
The lists give the name and /or title of each person liable to pay, with a note to say whether or not they have paid, the value of their property, the value of their rents, and the assessment. The list is not in any particular order (although it seems similar to that of the assessment books in AS/Acom/12) and the entries are numbered. |
