| Administrative History | Shortly after the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914 the Government formed a committee to make plans to aid those in distress as a result of the war (both family members of men serving in the armed forces and those whose employment was affected by the war. A National Relief Fund was established, with Edward, Prince of Wales as treasurer, and the Prince issued an appeal on the 7 August to ask for financial support for the Fund. The records in this series relate to Kincardineshire's response to this appeal.
