Administrative HistoryPublic Assistance Area 11 covered the parishes of Inverurie, Keith Hall, Kintore, Chapel of Garioch, Bourtie, Meldrum and Daviot, and the Burghs of Inverurie, Kintore and Oldmeldrum. Public Assistance Area 12 comprised the parishes of Kemnay, Monymusk, Cluny and Midmar. These were administered jointly with one Public Assistance Officer, and were merged to form the Inverurie Area in October 1934. They were overseen by the Public Assistance Area Committee 9 (Inverurie).

In 1946/47 the public assistance areas were reorganised, and Inverurie Area became Area 4, and took over the administration of the former Area 10 (Garioch).

After the National Assistance Act 1948 and National Health Service Act 1946 came into effect, some of the committee's functions passed to the Welfare Sub-Committee for the Garioch Area No. 4 (Inverurie and Oldmeldrum Homes).

The Area's office was at Inverurie.
