Administrative History | Sandhaven Special Water Supply District was in existence by 1900, when the water supply works were finished, and the district borrowed £735 to pay off bills on the work.
Sandhaven Drainage District was in existence by 1936 when both it and the Water Supply District were extended to include Pitullie (Pitullie had requested a Special Water Supply District of its own in 1934 but had been refused).
Sandhaven and Pitullie Special Lighting District was formed in 1939, based on the same boundaries, and a Sandhaven Special Scavenging District was also in place by 1949 when it was adopted into the county system.
Sandhaven and Pitullie Special Drainage and Lighting Districts followed in 1968. |
