Administrative History | Kemnay Special Water & Drainage District was established by 1899, and the water works for the area were finished in 1900.
The Lighting District, a portion of the Water and Drainage District, was formed in 1904, and borrowed £150 to install Lux lamps.
The Water and Drainage district was extended 1933, and the following year a proposal was made to convert the Lighting District into a Scavenging District, but this was objected to by some locals.
The scheme was approved in 1935, but not actually carried out until 1939 when the Kemnay and Monymusk Special Scavenging District was formed.
It was adopted into the county scheme in 1949, and the Lighting and Drainage Districts were taken over by the county in 1968. |
