Administrative History | Tarland Water Supply was constructed in 1875 under the guidance of Tarland-Migvie Local Authority. The Special Drainage and Water Distric was set up in 1890, and one of their first tasks was to arrange the filtering of the water supply in 1891.
Special Scavenging and Lighting Districts were discussed in 1933, but the Scavenging District was opposed by some locals, and a decision on the Lighting District was postponed until it was known when electricity would reach the village.
The Special Scavenging District was eventually set up in 1936, based on the boundaries of the Special Drainage and Water Supply District.
The Special Lighting District, based on the same boundaries, was set up in 1939.
The Special Scavenging District was adopted by the county in 1949, and the Special Lighting and Drainage Districts were adopted in 1968. |
