Administrative History | Braemar Special Drainage District was already in place by 1894, when the Special Water Supply District was formed. Deeside District Committee purchased Castleton water and drainage plant from Mr. Farquharson of Invercauld for the use of the Special District.
Braemar Special Lighting District and Special Scavenging District were both formed in 1896 based on the boundaries of the Special Drainage District.
In 1947, the lighting system was converted to electricity.
The Special Scavenging District was taken over by the county in 1949, and the Special Lighting and Drainage Districts in 1968. |
