Administrative History | Lumphanan Special Drainage district was first formed in December 1895. The committee straightaway borrowed £600 for capital works from Aberdeen County Council, and the water and drainage works were finished in 1898.
A Special Scavenging District was discussed in 1932, to be based on the Special Water Supply District boundaries, but the decision was postponed to see if a new voluntary scheme worked. It was evidently unsatisfactory, as the Special Scavenging District, with the same boundaries as bot the Special Water Supply and the Special Drainage Districts, was set up in 1938. It was adopted into the County scheme in 1949.
The Special Lighting and Drainage Districts were adopted by the county in 1968. |
