| Administrative History | Newmachar Special Lighting District was formed in 1935. Prior to 1941 there was also a Special Drainage and Water Supply District, for in that year a Special Scavenging District was formed using the same boundaries, following requests by local residents. It was adopted into the county system in 1949. The functions of the Special Lighting and Special Drainage Districts were taken over by the county council in 1968. |
