| Administrative History | A Special Water Supply District was formed for Tomintoul, in the parish of Kirkmichael, in 1898. In 1923, a Special Drainage District was formed, and the Duke of Richmond and Gordon donated £500 to fund the drainage scheme, to add to a loan of £1665. A new reservoir for the Special Water Supply District was built in 1936. A Special Lighting District was requisitioned in 1949, and formed in 1950: installation of the lighting system cost £288 11s. 5d. In 1955, a Special Scavenging District was formed, based on the Special Lighting District. |
