Administrative HistoryUnder the Education (Scotland) Act 1918 seven School Management Committees were established in Kincardineshire:
1. Upper Deeside (parishes of Banchory Ternan, Durris, Strachan)
2. Lower Deeside (parishes of Maryculter, Banchory-Devenick, Nigg)
3. Stonehaven (parishes of Fetteresso and Dunnottar)
4. Arbuthnott (parishes of Arbuthnott, Glenbervie and Kinneff and Catterline)
5. Fordoun (parishes of Fordoun and Fettercairn)
6. Laurencekirk (parishes of Laurencekirk, Marykirk and Garvock)
7. St Cyrus (parishes of Bervie, Benholm and St Cyrus)

In 1929 these were restructured into five committees:
1. Upper Deeside (parishes of Banchory Ternan, Durris, Strachan and Banchory Burgh)
2. Lower Deeside (parishes of Maryculter, Banchory-Devenick, Nigg)
3. Stonehaven (parishes of Fetteresso, Dunnottar, Glenbervie, Kinneff and Stonehaven Burgh)
4. Laurencekirk (parishes of Fordoun and Fettercairn, Laurencekirk, Marykirk and Garvock and Laurencekirk Burgh)
7. St Cyrus (parishes of Arbuthnott, Bervie, Benholm, St Cyrus and Inverbervie Burgh)
