The Council elected William Shepherd Esq, Burgess of Guild and one of the present Baillies of Aberdeen, to be the Commissioner for the Burgh at the election of a Member of Parliament to serve in the United Kingdom Parliament at Westminster for the Burghs of Aberdeen, Montrose, Brichen, Aberbrothock and Inverbervie, at Aberbrothock on 24 November 1806. The Council appointed the following as Assessors to Alexander Fraser, Dean of Guild, for the year ending Michaelmas 1807: Baillie William Shepherd, Baillie Robert Garden, Provost George More, Provost Thomas Leys, Provost John Dingwall, Provost James Hadden, Alexander More, late Dean of Guild, Provost William Young, Alexander Young, Gavin Hadden, James Young junior and Robert Tower, all merchants in Aberdeen.
