DescriptionCouncil meeting, 1 July 1801
[Sederunt given]

The Council approved the report of the committee appointed on 1 October 1800 to investigate the limits of the Raik Fishings to the south of the harbour mouth. The committee had applied to the Crown for a grant of fishing rights on the salmon fishings in the sea, adjacent to the lands of Torrie which belonged to the Treasurer, having determined that this area was beyond the limits of the Raik fishings and that no fishing rights to it had ever been granted. The Council remitted to a committee of the magistrates, the Dean of Guild, the Treasurer and Provosts More and Leys, or any three of them, to take any further action to obtain the grant. (43r - 43v)
The Council adopted the recommendations of the committee appointed on 1 October 1800 to consider the dykes along the Raik and Mid Chingle fishings on the River Dee, and instructed the same committee to have the dykes restored to their former state, in order to allow the harbour to be scoured by the river's floods. (43v - 44r)

The Council appointed John Dingwall Esq, merchant and present Provost of Aberdeen, to be their Commissioner to the General Convention of Royal Burghs to be held in Edinburgh on 14 July 1801. Also appointed George Sim Esq, merchant and present Dean of Guild of Aberdeen, to be his Assessor. (44r)
