The Council elected James Hadden Esq, Burgess of Guild and present Provost of Aberdeen, to be the delegate for the burgh at the election of a member of Parliament for the burghs of Aberdeen, Montrose, Brechin, Aberbrothock and Inverbervie at Montrose on 4 January 1802, in place of the deceased Alexander Allardyce Esq. The Council authorised the Treasurer to borrow from the following persons for public purposes, particularly for formation of the new streets from the south and north to Castle Street, and directed him to grant bonds to the following, for payment on 20 December 1802 at five per cent interest:
Kirk Session of Banchory Devenick - £500
James Hyde of Honduras, in addition to the sum already lent - £500
Miss May Clerk - £500
Robert Young, Sergeant of Artillery - £180
Miss Isabella Westland - £200
Alexander Shirrefs, advocate, as trustee for Katherine Leith - [no amount specified]

James Wilson in Annochie - £300
James Wilson in Cairnbanno, in addition to the sum already lent - £140

Christian Paterson, widow of James Gibb in liferent, and James Selbie, surgeon, and others in fee - £120

The Council authorised the Treasurer to grant a bond of annuity for the sum of £56 yearly to Mrs Rachel Walker or Bruce, widow of John Bruce, merchant in Aberdeen, during her life and a bond for the sum of £950 to John Bruce junior, merchant in Aberdeen, to be paid on the death of Rachel Walker. Sums to be paid by the New Streets Trustees as part of the price of a house on Broad Street bought by them from Rachel Walker and John Bruce. (73r)
The Council authorised the Shoremaster to borrow from the following persons for the purposes of the shore and harbour, and directed him to grant bonds to the following, for payment on 20 December 1802 at five per cent interest:

John Cruickshank in Balhagarty, in addition to the sum already lent - £210
