DescriptionCouncil meeting, 11 June 1805
[Sederunt given]
The Council resolved that £1,500 should be demanded from James Skene Esq of Rubislaw in return for the grant of a new Charter of Resignation on the Lands of Rubislaw, which would relinquish the Town's right to the stone quarries on the Rubislaw estate; and the Council agreed to discharge the process of declarator against Mr Skene, which was awaiting settlement in the Court of Session. (195r -195v)

The Council granted the petition from the Deacon Boxmaster and other members of the Incorporation of Wrights and Coopers in Aberdeen, requesting that persons who had entered the Incorporation since 21 September 1801, be admitted as Craftsmen Burgesses on payment of the smaller dues which were paid by entering Craftsmen before the Act of Council of 21 September 1801 increased the size of compositions. The Council considered an Act of the Incorporation of Wrights and Coopers of 7 June 1805, which admitted the validity of the Act of Council of 21 September 1801, and resolved that no Tradesmen received into the Incorporation of Wrights and Coopers after 7 June 1805 would be allowed entry on payment of the smaller dues, unless they applied to the Council before 7 September 1805. (196v - 197v)

The Council considered the report of the committee appointed to consider the appointment of a Preacher in the College Church, in place of Mr James Shand, which stated that it was the practice to let the Church at a small yearly rent to an approved clergyman. The Council remitted to the magistrates to arrange a lease of the College Church. (196v - 197r)
