| Description | Council meeting, 27 October 1812 [Sederunt given] Following the report of the Examinators of Competitors for Bursaries, the Council admitted the following to bursaries of four years duration at Marischal College; Alexander Milne Mowat, son of James Mowat, manufacturer in Aberdeen and George Melvin, son of the deceased George Melvin, merchant in Aberdeen, each to one of Sir Thomas Crombie's bursaries of £8; James Shand, son of Mr Alexander Shand, advocate in Aberdeen, Kenneth McKenzie, son of the Rev Mr John McKenzie, Minister in Aberdeen, John Shand, son of the Rev Mr James Shand, Minister at Mary Kirk, John Sheed, son of William Sheed, shoemaker in Aberdeen and Benjamin Rush Kidd, son of Professor Kidd of Marischal College, each to one of Mr James Cargil's bursaries of £7; John McLean, son of James McLean, Minister in Keith, to one of Dr Alexander Reid's bursaries of £6; John Bremner, son of Robert Bremner, farmer at Craighead, to one of Mr Alexander Cruden's bursaries of £5.
