William Douglas, Convener, accompanied by a deputation from the Incorporated Trades, appeared before the Council and presented to the Lord Provost for their consideration certain resolutions passed at a General Meeting of the Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen concerning the suppression of civil disorder and laws relating to grain monopolies, dated 18 November 1812 [resolutions engrossed]. The Provost promised a written reply the next day and the Council resolved to transmit the proceedings in way of a precognition to the Procurator Fiscal of the Sheriff Court in order that an ordinary complaint could be raised before the Sheriff. The Council appointed the Taxers and Stent Masters for the year Martinmas 1812 to Martinmas 1813: Alexander Duncan junior and Alexander Broun, two of the present Baillies; Alexander Fraser, Dean of Guild; Gavin Hadden, Treasurer; Alexander Galen, John Donald, George Storey, William Johnston, John Young, George Thomson, John Collison, James Brebner, John Smith youngest, John Symon, Robert Gibb, Robert Catto, William Leslie and James Reid, all merchants; Alexander Shirrefs and William Kennedy, advocates; Arthur Cromar and James Collie, the two Trades councillors.
The Council directed the Taxers and Stent Masters to raise the following sums: £526 10 shillings for the King's Subsidy with £30 14 shillings 2 pence and 9/12 overspend from the previous year's taxation. (243v - 244r)

The Council appointed the Dean of Guild's Assessors for the year Michaelmas 1812 to Michaelmas 1813: Robert Garden and Charles Walker, two of the present Baillies, James Hadden, Gavin Hadden, Thomas Bannerman, George Storey, Hugh Gordon, John Dingwall, John Smith youngest, James Milne, William Read and Arthur Gibbon, all merchants in Aberdeen.
