The Council approved the sale by public roup of the leases of two lots of ground belonging to the Treasurer. The first, the lease for three years of ground on the east side of Messrs Young and Walkers in Poynernook and bounded on the north by ground currently let to John Chalmers, was taken by John Benzie, wood merchant, at £7 annual rent. The second, the lease for seven and a half years from Martinmas of ground lying on the east side of the Back Road leading to Pocra and forty feet from the north end of the boil house built on ground leased to the Greenland Company, was taken by Alexander Duthie junior, merchant, on behalf of the Bon- Accord Whalefishing Company at £20 annual rent.
