The Council approved an application from Mr Gilbert Falconer, Master of the English School, for an increase in salary from 5 shillings to 7 shillings 6 pence per quarter. (34v)
The Council sanctioned the proposal by the Rev John Thomson, Minister of the Church of Footdee, to raise funds for an addition to the Church building on the north side by means of subscription, having examined the subscription paper [preamble engrossed] and been assured that the Town's rights on the property would not be infringed. In addition they authorised a donation of 30 guineas to the fund. (35r - 35v)
On the motion of Baillie Shepherd, the Council gave a unanimous vote of thanks to Alexander Brebner Esq of Learny, Provost of Aberdeen, for his services while Chief Magistrate. (36r) |
