The Council approved the purchase of a house and a triangular piece of ground in the line of the proposed new street, St Nicholas Street, from the Managers of the Burgher Seceding Congregation for the sum of £500. It was also agreed to permit the Church to retain a small piece of ground to the east, to preserve their lights and allow access to St Nicholas Street via a gate, and to grant them permission to build a Session House on the west side of the Church by purchasing the annual feu duty of £17 14 shillings from the Master of the Guild Brethren's Hospital, at the rate of twenty years purchase. The Council agreed that this sum of £354 be used towards the payment of the price of the house and land. (75r - 76r) |
