DescriptionCouncil meeting, 20 May 1809
The Council made its annual Perambulation of the Town's Inner Marches [description of route given] and the following observations were made; that the Bowl Road had become a nuisance due to the erection of buildings on either side of the road and the discharge of waste into the street and the keeping of dunghills - it was recommended that the Procurator Fiscal raise an action to ensure the residents cleared and maintained the street to the satisfaction of the Police Commissioners; that the March Stone at the foot of Garvock's Wynd had been disturbed and the land adjoining had been laboured - orders were given to prosecute the offenders; that the tenants on each side of Garvock's Wynd had encroached on the land and were labouring it - the Town Sergeants were instructed to issue them a warning. (106r - 107r)

The Council visited the Bridge of Dee and the Bridge of Don and reported on their state. It was observed that the shoing of the Bridge of Dee was almost completed, that areas of the lower side of the piers needed joints leaded, that the upper parts of the piers and parapet walls required pointing, that rebuilding was required on parts of the parapets and that the carriageway needed repairing in places. It was observed that the foundation of the piers of the Bridge of Don required leading and that several buttresses needed pointing and harling. (107r)
