| Description | Council meeting, 9 March 1807 [Sederunt given] The Council approved the sale by public roup of the following leases for seven years from 1 June 1807; the shops and back shop under the Town House possessed by Alexander Low & Company, was taken by James Turreff, merchant, at £26 annual rent; the shop and back shop possessed by Robert Caie was taken by Arthur Low at £30 annual rent; two cellars under the Printing Office, one held by George Mearns, the other by John Allan, were taken by the said George Mearns at £15 annual rent. The Council also approved the lease for nineteen years of George Tower & Company's ropeworks in the Links at £25 annual rent for seven years and £30 for the remaining twelve years. (10v - 11v)
The Council agreed a donation of £70 to the Managers of the Poor's Hospital and elected the following directors for the year ending Candlemas 1808; the Provost, magistrates and other members of the Town Council; Baillie Farquharson and Baillie Galen; Bishop Skinner; Rev Mr Bryce, Rev Mr Doig and Rev Mr Deans; Sir Alexander Bannerman; Dr Alexander Robertson, Dr Livingston, Dr French, Dr Dyce, Dr Moir and Dr Skene; Mr William Fiddler, Mr Henderson of Caskieben, Mr Niven of Thornton and Mr Martin of Nellfield; Messrs Thomas Bannerman, James Davidson, Robert Lamb and Charles Walker, merchants; Dr Dauney, Sheriff Substitute; Mr Carnegie, Town Clerk; Conveners Webster and Leslie. The Council approved the purchase from Marischal College of land south of Collison's Croft, for an annual feu duty of £13 1 shilling 4 pence, to provide access to the Bridewell. (12r)
The Council remitted to a committee of magistrates, the Dean of Guild, Treasurer and Provost More, an application by the Bridewell Commissioners for a part of Collison's Croft as a site for the building. (12r - 12v)
The Council remitted to a committee of magistrates the application by Mr Charles Gordon, advocate and agent for Mr Duff of Fetteresso, for approval of a proposed deepening and widening of the Burn of Leuchar, lying between the Carding Mill of Garlogie and the Lands of Culter, which would affect the Lands of Cairney owned by the Dean of Guild. A report and estimates by Mr Johnston, drainer, accompanied the application. (12v - 13v)
The Council remitted to a committee of magistrates the settlement of a rental dispute between the Council and Mr William Forbes, merchant, regarding the extension of his ropeworks into the Links, the rent having been set at £5 by an Act of Council of 5 July 1803. (13r)
