The Council empowered the Shoremaster to grant bill for £2500 borrowed on 20 May 1810 from the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen, with interest payable on 20 December 1810. It further authorised the Treasurer to grant bond to Janet Begg, wife of John Cordiner, for £290 borrowed in 1809 without a bond having been issued. (150r)
The Council authorised the Treasurer to borrow monies at Whitsunday. Bills and bonds for the relevant sums had been issued to the following persons:
George Storey, merchant in Aberdeen - £1200
The Kirk Session of Monymusk - £266 13 shillings 4 pence
Miss Helen Walker in Aberdeen - £100
The Trustees of the late George Auldjo, merchant - £400
Mrs Cross, residing in Aberdeen - £350
James Brown, merchant in Banff, in addition to £400 - £100
John Forbes in Pitcaple - £130
William Johnston, merchant in Banff, in addition to £900 - £300
Misses Ann, Agnes and Margaret Thomson - £150
The Council further empowered the Treasurer and Shoremaster to borrow such sums on 20 June 1810 as may prove necessary to pay the principal sums or interests due by them on account of the New Streets or the purchase of properties for the Harbour Improvements. (150r - 150v)
