The Council approved the new Shore Dues Table and Bulking Table as framed by a Council committee and remitted to the same certain alterations and ordered it be published and engrossed in the Council Register [tables engrossed 160v - 164r]. (159v)
Following a letter from Mr Cromar, Rector of the Grammar School, complaining of the want of proper accommodation, the Council remitted to a committee of magistrates the inspection of school buildings and authorised any repairs deemed necessary. (159v)
The Council resolved to forward the report and supporting papers relating to John Rae's evidence regarding the Shore and Harbour Dues to Mr David Hume, Professor of Scots Law, for his opinion and advice thereanent. (159v)
The Council elected Provost Hadden as Commissioner and Baillie Shepherd as his Assessor to the Convention of Royal Burghs in Edinburgh on 10 July 1810. (159v - 160r)
The Council agreed to grant Mrs Turner, widow of Keith Turner of Turnerhall, merchant in Dantzic, along with her daughters, an annuity of £12 from her late husband's mortification. (160r) |
