The Council considered the application from Harry Lumsden, advocate in Aberdeen, on behalf of the Managers of the Subscription Fund for erecting a Bridge over the River Dee near Kincardine O'Neil, in the line of Cairn O'Mount Road, for confirmation of the Council subscription of £150 in terms of the Act of Council, 22 March 1796. Difficulties in raising sufficient funds had delayed the construction of the bridge, however, the Council was assured that the Commissioners for Highland Roads and Bridges would cover half the anticipated costs and therefore agreed to ratify the said Act of Council and authorised the Master of Kirk and Bridge Works to subscribe the aforesaid sum.
