The Council approved the sale of the following leases.
First, a six-year lease of a piece of ground lying on the east side of the back road leading to the Pocra, commencing ninety-seven feet north of the Bon Accord Whale Fishing Company's buildings, was taken by John Lumsden, merchant, Manager for the Dee Whale Fishing Company for £20 rent.
Second, a three-year lease of the dock or shipbuilding yard at Footdee on the east side of the Pocra Road, formerly let to George Main and then occupied by James Main and William Stephen, was taken by Alexander Smith, writer in Aberdeen, on behalf of Donaldson Rose, shipbuilder, at £25 yearly rent.
Third, no offers were received for a three-year lease of the dock or shipbuilding yard on the east side of the Pocra Road, occupied by Robert Gibb & Sons, set at £22 rent.
Fourth, no offers were received for a three-year lease of a piece of ground at Footdee lying along the Pocra Road and extending eastward to the Back road leading to the Pocra, under lease to John Younghusband as a boat building yard, set at £12 rent.
Fifth, a five-year lease of the shop and back shop under the Town House and fronting Castle Street, occupied by Roy & Company, was taken by Alexander Roy, merchant in Aberdeen, for £50 yearly rent.
Sixth, a five-year lease of the shop and back shop under the Town House, let to Thomson & Company, ironmongers, was taken by William Thomson for £53 15 shillings yearly rent.
Also, a seven-year lease of thirty-two feet of additional ground was granted to William Stephen, shipbuilder, by private bargain. The additional ground lay immediately north of the lot of ground in the Links already leased to him, on the east side of the back road and in line with the front of the Bon Accord Whale Fishing Company's buildings, and was leased at same rate as the ground which he already held.
