| Description | Council meeting, 12 May 1814 [Sederunt given] The Council authorised the Treasurer to borrow £1,000 from Dr James Andrew of Addiscombe Place in the County of Surry, and to grant a bond for £1,000 with interest payable half-yearly to James Andrew, tailor, Burgess of Aberdeen, father of Dr James Andrew, during his life, and the principal sum payable after the death of James Andrew to Dr James Andrew, his heirs, executors or assignees. The Council resolved to present a loyal and dutiful address to His Royal Highness the Prince Regent congratulating him on the brilliant success of the Allied Powers. [Address engrossed.] The Council directed the Provost to sign the address, and to transmit it to Mr Farquhar, Member of Parliament for the District, for him to present it to the Prince Regent. The Council resolved to alter the Table of Weigh House and Pack House Dues, as English coals were sold by measure, rather than by weight. (31r) |
