The Council approved the employment of Mr William Kennedy, advocate in Aberdeen, to complete an index to the Council Registers. (Mr Kennedy had already indexed the first thirty-nine volumes, from 1398 to 1661). The Council reserved consideration of the remuneration to be paid to Mr Kennedy until the Index had been completed. (6v - 7r)

The Council approved the sale by public roup of a piece of ground on St Catharine's Hill, on the south side of Union Street at the back of the building area, to David Chalmers, printer in Aberdeen, for the sum of £152. (7v)

The Council agreed to admit Mr John Smith, architect, Superintendent of the Town's Public Works, as a Burgess of Guild, as a mark of their approbation for the great attention he had bestowed on his duties. The Council empowered the Dean of Guild to take credit in his accounts for the composition John Smith would otherwise have been liable to pay as an entering Burgess of Guild. (7v - 8r)

The Council admitted Mr James Hadden junior, merchant in Aberdeen, formerly admitted as an Infant Burgess; John Smith, architect, Superintendent of the Town's Public Works, and twenty-one other Burgesses of Guild; and three Tradesmen as Freemen of their Crafts. [No other names given.] (8r)
