The Council admitted the following to bursaries of four years duration at Marischall College. John Wilson, son of John Wilson, stocking merchant in Aberdeen and Burgess of Guild, awarded one of Katherine Rolland's bursaries of £8. John Forbes, son of Rev Patrick Forbes, Minister of Boharm; and Alexander Reid, son of Alexander Reid, farmer at Strichen; each awarded one of Sir Thomas Crombie's bursaries of £8. Alexander Duncan, son of George Duncan, wright, Burgess of Guild, awarded one of Mr James Cargill's bursaries of £7. Robert Smith, son of the deceased Alexander Smith, stone merchant in Aberdeen; William Littlejohn, son of James Littlejohn, architect in Aberdeen; and William Edmond, son of Francis Edmond, cartwright in Aberdeen; each awarded one of Dr Duncan Liddel's bursaries of £5. George Smith, son of Rev Joseph Smith, Minister of Birse, awarded John Turner's bursary of £5. The Council ordained the proprietor of the Lands of Turnerhall to pay the sum of £5 to George Smith, in terms of the deed of mortification by John Turner, merchant in Dantzic, the founder of the mortification. The Council appointed the Taxers and Stent Masters: Alexander Duncan junior and Alexander Brown, two of the present Baillies; William Johnston, Dean of Guild, John Young, Treasurer, Alexander Simpson, late Treasurer, Alexander Galen, William Shepherd, George Storey, Robert Walker, James Brebner, George Thomson, Alexander Hadden, James Hadden junior, Robert Duthie, William Leslie, John Catto, Robert Catto and George Pirie, merchants; Robert Morice and David Hutcheon, advocates; George Anderson and William Marr, the two Trades councillors. The Council directed the Taxers and Stent Masters to raise the following sums: £526 10 shillings for the King's Subsidy for the year Martinmas 1814 to Martinmas 1815; minus the £65 10 shillings 11 pence 3/4 balance in the hands of the Treasurer from the previous year. The Council appointed the following as Assessors to William Johnston, Dean of Guild, for the year ending Michaelmas 1816: Baillie Robert Garden, Baillie Charles Walker, James Hadden, Alexander Galen, Gavin Hadden, George Storey, George Thomson, James Brebner, John Catto, Robert Catto, John Collison and George Pirie, all merchants in Aberdeen. The Council approved the sale by public roup of three-year leases of the following dock and shipbuilding yards at Footdee, on the west side of the road leading to Pocra Pier:
First, a lease of the dockyard occupied by William Stephen & Sons, was purchased by them for £42 yearly rent.
Second, a lease of the dockyard possessed by Nicol Reid & Company was purchased by them for £42 yearly rent.
Third, a lease of part of the dockyard occupied by Alexander Hall & Company was purchased by them for £85 yearly rent. In addition, Alexander Hall & Company had agreed to pay a further £5 rent to possess the piece of ground between the north side of their dockyard and the dockyard occupied by James Adamson, along the line of the old Pocra Road, until 1 June 1816.
The Council also approved the sale by public roup of three-year leases of the following two lots in the neighbourhood of Messrs Alexander Hadden & Sons manufactory:
A lease of one lot was purchased by John Chalmers, wright, for £9.
A lease of the other lot was purchased by John Benzie, wood merchant, for £8.
