| Description | COUNCIL REGISTER, VOLUME 71, FOLIOS 9r - 9v Council meeting, 9 January 1822 [Sederunt given] The magistrates recommended that the sum of money belonging to the Town's different office bearers, being around £600 or £700, currently deposited in the bank at three percent, should be used to purchase certain small Treasury debts. Which being considered, the Council resolved to purchase bills not exceeding £20 from such creditors as were inclined to sell. (9r) The Council admitted the following to vacant bursaries at Marischal College upon the Faculty's recommendations of 21 December 1821; Alexander Beattie, student in the semi class, to Ross's bursary of £6 for three years, in place of Alexander Wright; John Beattie, student in the bajan class, to Mr James Cargill's bursary of £8 for two years, in place of James Thomson; Robert Machray, student in the magistrand class, to Lorimer's bursary of £5 for one year, in place of Charles Roy.
