James Grant, advocate in Aberdeen, was appointed to continue in the office of Collector of Taxation for the City of Aberdeen for the year 1827 to 1828 with an allowance of £50 for the expense of collecting and risk of bad debt. Sureties were offered by John Ramsay Esq of Barra, Alexander Innes Esq of Pitmedden and Francis Gordon Esq of Kincardine. (199v - 200v)
The Council approved the sale by public roup of the following leases; the lease for three years of the Pack House and Weigh House Dues was taken by Samuel Davidson, auctioneer in Aberdeen, at £231 annual rent; the lease for seven years of the boiling houses and yard at Footdee, occupied by the Union Whale Fishing Company, was taken by the same at £47 annual rent; the ropewalk and sheds, occupied by the late James Gibbon & Company at the annual rent of £50, were not taken.
