James Grant, advocate in Aberdeen, was appointed to continue in the office of Collector of Taxation for the City of Aberdeen for the year 1828 to 1829 with an allowance of £50 for the expense of collecting and risk of bad debt. Sureties were offered by John Ramsay Esq of Barra, Alexander Innes Esq of Pitmedden and Francis Gordon Esq of Kincardine. (251r - 251v)
The Council approved the sale by public roup in way of feu of the corner stance on the south side of Union Street on the east side of the street leading past the property of Mr William Read, [measurements given], to Duncan Davidson, advocate in Aberdeen, at 8 shillings 6 pence per foot of front. The Council approved the sale by public roup of the leases of the following properties from 1 June 1828: First, the lease for three years of the ground at Footdee, currently held as a shipbuilding yard by William Stephen & Sons, to Alexander Stephen, shipbuilder, at £70 annual rent.
Second, the lease for three years of the ground at Footdee, occupied as a shipbuilding yard by James Adamson, to the same at £45 annual rent.
Third, the lease for three years of the ground at Footdee, currently held by John Duffus & Company, to the same at £30 annual rent.
Fourth, the lease for three years of the ground currently held by Messrs Nicol Reid & Company to the same at the annual rent of £60.
Fifth, the lease for three years of the shipbuilding yard held by Alexander Hall & Company to the same at £50 annual rent.
Sixth, the lease for three years of the shipbuilding yard at present occupied by William Duthie, shipbuilder, and Alexander Hall, to the said William Duthie at £50 annual rent.
Seventh, the lease for three years of the ground occupied by William Duthie to the same at £36 5 shillings annual rent.
Eighth, the lease for three years of the ground at Footdee, occupied by George Levie, to the same at £42 10 shillings annual rent.
Ninth, the lease for three years of the ground occupied as a wood yard by Robert Duthie, to Alexander Chivas, advocate in Aberdeen, on behalf of Alexander Mackie, merchant in Aberdeen, at £70 10 shillings annual rent.
Tenth, the lease for three years of the shop under the Town House held by Adam Singer to the same at £40 annual rent.
Eleventh, the lease for three years of the shop also under the Town House held by Mollison & Company to William Gray, advocate in Aberdeen, on behalf of Mollison & Company at £40 annual rent.
Twelfth, the lease for three years of the shop also under the Town House, currently held by Alexander Martin and belonging to the Dean of Guild, to the said Alexander Martin at £40 annual rent.
Thirteenth, the lease for three years of the interior of the Cross in Castle Street, at present held as a coach office by the Union Coach Company and belonging to the Dean of Guild, to William Melvin, vintner in Aberdeen at £101 annual rent.
Fourteenth, the lease for seven years of the ground belonging to the Treasurer adjoining the Meal Market to William Leslie youngest, merchant, at £12 annual rent.
Fifteenth, the lease for three years of the lime sheds at the Quay belonging to the Treasurer, at present occupied by the Aberdeen Lime Company, to Andrew Geddes, Manager for the said Company, at the annual rent of £50.
Sixteenth, the lease for three years of the lime shed occupied by Mr George Duncan to Mr George Cruickshank, Manager for the Union Lime Company, at £16 annual rent.

Mr Carnegie, the Town Clerk, reported to the Council that a decreet of division and disjunction of the Parish of St Nicholas into six different parishes had been lately obtained before the Teind Court and that an extract had been presented to the Presbytery of Aberdeen at their last meeting by Baillie Stewart for their opinion. The Council empowered Mr Carnegie, the Town Clerk, to notify Messrs Robert Forbes and James Watt, two of the Masters of the Grammar School, that as of 20 June 1828 the payment of all additional allowances to the Masters from the Treasury Funds would be discontinued. The Council remitted to a Committee of the Provost, Baillie Milne, Mr Gavin Hadden and the Master of Mortifications to consider the question of emoluments arising to the different Masters of the said School.
