The Council requested Provost Hadden to go to Edinburgh to attend an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Convention of Royal Burghs on 11 April 1822, as notified in a letter from Mr John Irving, Agent for the Convention, called to discuss the merits of the Lord Advocate's Bill currently before Parliament for regulating the mode of accounting for the Common Good and Revenues of the Royal Burghs of Scotland.
