The Council elected Provost Alexander Brown as Commissioner and Baillie John Young as his Assessor to the Convention of Royal Burghs in Edinburgh on 8 July 1823. (32r)
The Council approved the draft regulations and rates of fares for the Street Porters or Backmen, as drawn up and reported to the Council by the appointed Committee and instructed the same to be engrossed in the Council Register as well as to be printed and published [regulations and rates of fare engrossed]. The Council admitted William Collie, bookseller, as a Burgess of Guild. (34v) |
