The Council elected Baillie James Milne, Baillie Alexander Duthie, Mr John Young and Mr Alexander Stewart, all merchants and Burgesses of Guild to be the Bridewell Commissioners for the two years ensuing to execute the powers granted by the Act of Parliament 42 GEO.III on behalf of the Council. The Council appointed the Dean of Guild's Assessors for the year Michaelmas 1823 to Michaelmas 1824: Baillie James Milne, Baillie Robert Brown, William Johnston, late Dean of Guild, Alexander Galen, George Thomson, Robert Catto, Alexander Duncan junior, James Lamond, John Whyte, Robert Walker, Gavin Hadden and Alexander Hadden, all merchants in Aberdeen.
