| Description | COUNCIL REGISTER, VOLUME 71, FOLIOS 102v - 103v Council meeting, 7 July 1825 [Sederunt given] The Provost reported that both the Bill for constructing a new bridge over the River Don and the Bill for erecting a new jail adjacent to the new Court House had received the Royal Assent and had passed into law. (102v - 103r) The Council approved of the terms by which the Treasurer renewed his acceptance to the Dean of Guild for the principal sum due to the latter for the purpose of reducing the interest rate payable on the Town's debts as laid out in the Act of Council of 18 May 1824. (103r) The Council authorised the Master of the Kirk Works to take the necessary steps to repair the Church clock based on estimates received. (103r - 103v) The Council elected Provost Gavin Hadden as Commissioner and Baillie James Milne as his Assessor to the Convention of Royal Burghs in Edinburgh on 12 July 1825.
