Description | Charter by William III, following thereon [the aforementioned instrument of resignation ref. CA/3/K1/2] in favour of Thomas Menzies, eldest lawful son and heir served and retoured to the deceased Thomas Menzies of Kimmundy of all and whole of the South and North half of the town and lands of Kimmundy, with the Hill of the same called Drumnagair, with the pertinents, and also of all and whole the ward of Kimmundy, with the pertinents, lying formerly within the Parish of St. Machar, and now within the lately created Parish of New Machar; to be held of the King , as coming in place of the Bishops, in Feufarm for payment of a yearly feuduty, for the said South and and North halves of Kimmundy and Drumnagair of £17.18.6 Scots and one mart, four Sheep, twelve Capons, twelve Hens, four bolls of Barley, with four Pecks in name of dry Mullure, six bolls of Oats with the straw and, for the said ward of Kimmundy, the sum of £3.18 Scots, and doubling the said feuduties at the entry of every heir; and the tenants of said lands sufficiently armed, being bound to serve the principal Baillie of the said Bishoprick, in the King's Army, in time of war, according to the custom of the County- said Charter is dated 15th Decemeber 1699. |
