| Description | Sir Alexander Ramsay was anxious to help his late friend's (John Foulerton of Thornton) family but that he believed his, Mr Skene's and Mr MacDonald's presences were unnecessary and would be detrimental to that end, with increased costs and delays - and that Major Turnbull and his agent would be able to handle the matter themselves more expediently.
Mr MacDonald, Solicitor at Law in London, was of the opinion that as he had settled in England it would be improper of him to be involved in his late friend's Scottish dealings.
