DescriptionSummons written by Alexander McRobert on behalf of William Smith against James Milne. It concerns the lands and houses held by William Smith and James Smith in Rosehearty, parish of Pitfodels, on ground granted to them by Francis Garden of Troup. James Milne was a merchant in Rosehearty who had built houses upon some of this land without permission and refused to give them up, pull them down, or pay compensation. The summons requires James Milne to appear before the Council of Session in Edinburgh to answer the allegations and pay a £100 fine. Witnesses to the document, both residing in Rosehearty, were George Allerton and Alexander Birnie.
