Description | Letter to Macdonald from Adolphe Artz, 6 rue Furstenberg, Paris, in which he notes his pleasure at the fact that Macdonald accepted the picture which Mr. White spoke to him about, and adds that he believes that it is one of the best he has painted, expresses delight that Macdonald is willing to have it in his collection, and will therefore finish it with much care, hopes that it will be finished in about one month, notes also that he visited Mr. Aubert recently, and saw Macdonald's picture still on his easel - apparently, Aubert had been ill, and intended to finish it within the space of a week, can tell Macdonald nothing of Mr. Schreyer's prices, but when Schreyer returns from travelling in October, he will find out the details, intending to write again when his picture is finished, 1 September 1869. |
