| Description | Letter to Macdonald from Jean Aubert, Paris, apologising for late response as he has been ill, agreeing to do a small painting of 'Youth' for him, with details of same, which will be a reproduction of the original which is in Laon, hoping to start in eight days, the piece would be best sized 55cm in height, but could be made to 85cm in height, asking Macdonald to write with dimensions, but if he does not receive a reply, he will commence the painting at 55cm., he has several paintings to complete at present, he has always wanted to visit Scotland and hopes to accept an invitation to Kepplestone if he goes there, George Reid has told him that Macdonald knows Charles Garnier, one of Aubert's best friends from school in Rome, 22 June 1869. |
