Administrative HistoryGeorge Roger was apprenticed to James Gordon 1766, and married his sister Margaret. They appear to have been in partnership trading as James Gordon and Company from 1777 to 1805 (see DD5/2/A). In 1805 George Roger entered a short lived partnership with William Jamieson. James Gordon inherited the Lands of Pixmuxton (see DD5/2/E).

George and Margaret's daughter, Elizabeth, married Alexander Cochran, shipmaster (see DD5/B) and their child was Francis James Cochran, advocate (1809 - 1870) (see DD5/2/C). Francis married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Alexander Smith of Glenmillan, advocate (1783 - 1847) (see DD5/2/D), and their eldest son was Alexander Cochran, advocate (1840 - 1893) (DD5/2/F).
