Extracts from Auchiries School Log Book 1916 - 1946:
4 Jan 1921:"Miss Calder - Mrs Stewart's successor commenced work in this school today..."

4 Oct 1929: "Miss Calder taken ill 30 september. School dismissed at 1pm. Mr Morrison Director of Education called at 2.15pm and interviewed the doctor. Miss Clark came as interim teacher on Tuesday 1 October - to Friday 4th October. Miss Jeannie Watt MA, Mill of Dess to take up duty as Relief Teacher on Tuesday 4th October"

25 October 1929: "Miss Calder's funeral starts from schoolhouse. Attendance continues to be good..."

6 Jan 1930: "I, Williamina Milne, began work in this school today, as successor to miss. I. A. Calder"

Extracts from School log Book 1946 - 1965:
2 Dec 1949: "Attendance 97.2% - very high for mid-winter. There is no doubt the excellent dinner served helps."

9 Dec 1949:"On Thursday afternoon the chielf inspector Mr. Munro and Mr Adams our own inspector called at the house, and discussed the question of closing the school. They went over the school and thought it looked in good order"

23 Dec 1949: "School was closed today for Xmas holiday. The school party was held on saturday 17th. There was a large attendance of parents, freinds, former pupils. Santa Clause distributed gifts and a Punch and Judy and conjuror entertained all." Later in the evening I was presented with beautiful gifts. My retiral, however, has been postponed owing to doubt about the school, till easter..."

27 Jan 1950: "In todays Press and Journal is a paragraph dealing with the continuance of this school. By the casting vote of the chairman it was decided to keep the school open"

24 March 1951: "The District Architect called and examined all buildings. No appointment has yet been made, but it is quite certain that the school is to continue"

31 March 1951: "Mrs Milne, Logie Coldstone has been appointed Mistress here. School closes today and I come to the end of my period of teaching here, after twenty years. I trust my successor is as happy in the work as I have been."

Extracts from Minute Books: Education Authority for the County of Aberdeen:
1920 - 1921:
25 November 1920: "(3) Posts advertised - Auchiries School, headmistresses. It was agreed to appoint Miss Calder, Headmistress of Steinmanhill School, and the Director was instructed to advertise for a successor for the latter post."

1929 - 1930:
31 October 1929: Auchiries School. The death of Miss Calder, Headmistress, on 22 inst was reported.

28 Nov 1929:"Auchiries School. Miss WilLiamina Milne, Rowan Cottage, Hatton, and Miss Annie J Pirie, Arthrath, Ellon, were unanimously selected as a leet to be interviewed for this appointment"

12 Dec 1992: Auchiries School, Headmistree. For Miss Williamina Milne, Hatton - 33 For Miss Annie J Pirie, Ellon - 8 and Miss Milne was thereupon appointed.
