Extract from Log Book 1867 - 1907 notes that miss Gillanders started work there on 19 May 1884. The last entry she made in the Log book was on 12 December 1890 and then a new teacher took over.
Extract from School Board MB:
School Board of Glenmuick and Tullich Minute Book 1881 - 1901 records on 24 April 1884 that Miss Mary Gillanders, teacher at Torphins Public School had been apointed teacher for Birkhall, and later notes her resignation 20 November 1890.
