Administrative HistoryFormerly called Bridge of Don School, the school became an Academy in 1972. The primary department closed in 1969 when Scotstown School opened, and it became a four year comprehensive secondary school, moving to six years in 1971.

A new building was constructed on North Donside Road c. 1939, and then the school moved to a new site at Braehead Way in 1979. The school was under the Aberdeen County jurisdiction until local government boundary changes in 1975. It is now an Aberdeen City Council school.
