Administrative HistoryThe school was originally Sunnybank School until June 1939 when it re-opened as Powis Junior Secondary School, with pupils transferred from Sunnybank Intermediate School. The school amalgamated with Hilton Academy on the Powis site in July 1988 and became known as St Machar Academy (ED/GR6S/A95).
