Administrative HistorySkene Square School was originally founded in 1861 from a bequest by Dr John Brown and known as Dr John Brown's School (see AET/BS for more information about Dr Brown). The school was transferred to the Aberdeen School Board in November 1878, and eventually became Skene Square School. A plaque to Dr Brown was unveiled at the school in 1962.
