Description | These papers are predominantly draft legal instruments and solicitors' correspondence, relating to Frederick Chalmers Lumsden of Bethelnie.
Lumsden died on 17 October 1890, leaving a trust settlement to be administered by his trustees, Messrs. Cochran & McPherson, advocates in Aberdeen.
After payment of debts, they were instructed that the residue of his estate be divided equally between the associations in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow for the prevention of cruelty to animals. However a claim for damages against the estate was then lodged by James Skinner of Woodside, valued at the sum of £5000, resulting in the trustees for Lumsden raising an action of multiple poinding.
There was a subsequent minor claim lodged by John Morrison of Aberdeen for the sum of £34 which he alleged was due to him by Lumsden |
